NAMPA, Idaho - Despite a balanced offensive attack that placed five players in double-figures, the Northwest Nazarene University men's basketball team fell 85-81 on Saturday afternoon to Central Washington University in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference game at the Johnson Sports Center in Nampa.
The Crusaders (8-5, 0-2 GNAC) were led by
Anthony Golden with 18 points and
Drew Eisinger with 16, while Central Washington (8-4, 2-0 GNAC) was paced by Jon Clift's game-high 23.
Also reaching double-figures for the Crusaders were
Brian Barkdoll with 14,
Kendall Gielow with 12, and
Jamie Eisinger with 10. Eisinger led all players with four assists, while Barkdoll led the NNU rebounding effort with nine rebounds.
NNU held a slim 38-37 edge on the glass, but shot just 66-percent (12-18) from the free throw line. CWU shot 49-percent (33-67) from the floor, 31-percent (7-22) from the three-point arc, and 70-percent (12-17) from the free throw line.
The Crusaders will travel to Saint Martin's University next Thursday and Western Oregon University on Saturday for a pair of GNAC counters.
