NAMPA, Idaho - Northwest Nazarene University senior
Lindsay Brady scored 21 points and
Katharina Schulte to Buhne added a career-high 18 but it wasn't enough to stop the 13th-ranked Seawolves from the University of Alaska Anchorage as UAA defeated the Crusaders 66-65 on Saturday evening in front of 1,073 fans at the Johnson Sports Center in Nampa.
Hanna Johansson stepped to the free throw line and calmly knocked home two free throws with 4.3 seconds left to play to give the Seawolves (15-3, 5-2 GNAC) the road win and hand the Crusaders just their second home loss of the season.
Johansson scored 14 points and was joined in double-figures by teammates Tamar Gruwell with 21 and Nikki Aden with 13. Gruwell hit on five-of-10 three pointers and the Seawolves finished 9-of-21 (42.9-percent) from the three point line.
Brittney Roggenkamp scored 10 points for the Crusaders (14-4, 4-3 GNAC), who led by three at 65-62 with 2:36 remaining, but would not score again and commit three turnovers in the final 2:16 of the game.
UAA out-rebounded NNU 28-26, as Nicci Miller led the Seawolves with six and NNU's
Janee Olds and
Kristin Hein each had four.
The Crusaders will travel to league-leading Western Washington next Thursday and then to second-place Seattle Pacific on Saturday.
