NAMPA, Idaho – Five points in the final minute by Adam Wardell powered the Seattle Pacific men's basketball team to an 87-82 victory over Northwest Nazarene on Saturday afternoon in Nampa.

Wardell broke an 80-80 tie with 56-seconds to play, nailing a three-pointer from the right wing and then converted two free-throws in the final seconds to secure the win.

NNU's Anthony Golden drove the lane and tossed in a mid-lane jumper to cut it back to one at 83-82 with 27-seconds to go and then an immediate foul on Chris Banchero resulted in a Crusader possession to win after Banchero missed both free throws.

A set-play secured Kendall Gielow a 12-foot jumper from the left baseline that slid just long.  The Crusaders then fouled Wardell, setting up the clinching free throws with seven ticks on the clock.

Banchero led all scorer's with 21, while teammate Brandon Larrieu added 16, Wardell finished with 12, and Jake Anderson also came off the bench to score 10.

The Crusaders were led by Gielow with 20, Louie Beech scored 17, Brian Barkdoll netted 13 and Golden had 12.  Barkdoll led the rebounding effort with seven and both Gielow and Beech grabbed six.

Gielow became the 38th player in GNAC history to score 1,000 or more points in his career. Gielow now has 1,006.

Even on the glass as 26-26, the Falcons shot 54.6-percent (30-55) from the floor and 46.7-percent (7-15) from the arc.

NNU went 25-for-54 (46.3-percent) from the field and hit on eight-of-19 three pointers.
