Crusaders fall at Boise State 76-58

BOISE, Idaho - Boise State University pulled away from Northwest Nazarene late in the second half in earning a 76-58 victory over the Crusaders in a men's collegiate basketball game Tuesday at the Taco Bell Arena in Boise.

Northwest Nazarene (7-2) never led against NCAA D.I Broncos, but trailed by just one point at halftime (31-30), despite falling behind by 11 (17-6) early in the contest.

The Crusaders used a 9-1 run to close the first half, including a three-pointer by Drew Eisinger with 31 seconds left in the period.

In the second half, NNU remained within single digits, trailing by a 61-53 count with 6:28 remaining before the Broncos used an 11-2 run to open up a 72-55 lead with 1:51 left.

Eisinger led NNU with 14 points, while three other players - Anthony Golden (11), Brian Barkdoll (10) and Kendall Gielow (10) - were also in double figures.

Barkdoll had seven rebounds and Gielow had six as NNU battled Boise State to a 32-32 standoff on the backboards.

Paul Noonan led Boise (9-4) with 17 points. Ike Okoye had 15 points and a team-high 12 rebounds. La'Shard Anderson netted 14 points and also had a game-high five steals.

The Broncos built most of their lead from the three-point line, converting on 10 of 29 - Noonan was five of eight - compared to NNU's five of 19 from the arc.

The Crusaders will travel to Colorado this weekend to face Metro State College and Colorado School of Mines in a pair of neutral-site NCAA D.II contests, facing the Orediggers from Colorado Mines on Friday at 5:00 p.m. at Metro State, and then playing the Roadrunners from Metro State in Golden, Colorado on the campus of Colorado School of Mines.
