Seattle Pacific defeats NNU 6-0

SEATTLE, Wash. - 17th-ranked Seattle Pacific University defeated Northwest Nazarene University 6-0 on Saturday afternoon in the final regular season match for both schools. 

SPU wrapped up its sixth GNAC women's soccer title and clinched a spot in the NCAA Division II playoffs with the win at Interbay Stadium.

Jocelyn Charette had three goals and an assist as the Falcons (16-3-1, 9-2-1) finished the regular season one point ahead of defending champion Western Washington (11-4-4, 8-1-3) to claim the GNAC's automatic berth in the playoffs.

The Crusaders (3-12-4, 1-10-1 GNAC) had tied Western Washington 1-1 on Thursday in Belllingham, forcing the Falcons to win today to clinch the title.

NNU's Tanya Zickefoose hustled for eight saves as the Falcons out shot NNU 23 to 9.  SPU held a 9-3 edge in corner kicks and Falcon keeper Jessica Rahm-Kellerman made four saves.
