BILLINGS, Mont. - Jennifer Larsen converted a penalty kick in the 83rd minute to give Montana State Billings a 2-1 victory over Northwest Nazarene on Thursday afternoon in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference match in Billings.
The Crusaders (3-6-3, 1-4-0) had tied it up against MSUB with an unassisted goal by
Marie Smith two minutes prior to Larson's game-winner. The game's first goal came in the first half at 17:40 as Kari Foreman converted a cross from Lauren Anderson just outside the 18.
Smith's tying goal came off a scrum in the middle of the field following a NNU corner kick. MSUB moves to 7-4-1 overall and 4-2-0 in the GNAC with the win.
NNU goalie Lauren Delameter had five saves while Jordan Fenwick had three for MSUB. The 'Jackets out shot the Crusaders 17-6 in the match.
The Crusaders will now travel to Central Washington for a GNAC counter on Saturday at 11 a.m. PT.
