NAMPA, Idaho - Nicole Nedervelt scored in the 12th minute and the Saint Martin's University women's soccer team went on to take a 2-0 victory over Northwest Nazarene University in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference match Saturday afternoon in Nampa.

Nedervelt scored her fourth goal of the season on an unassisted goal early in the match, collecting a ball on the left side of the goal box and sending a shot across the goalmouth to find the net inside the far post in the 12th minute.

The Saints (11-7-0, 7-4-0 GNAC) added the insurance tally in the 78th minute when Joanne Packer headed home a cross from Jill Webb.

The Crusaders (3-11-3, 1-9-0 GNAC) were out shot 20 to 4 and the Saints held a 9 to 4 corner kick advantage.

Tanya Zickefoose made 10 saves for the Crusaders, while SMU's Ashley Engel grabbed three for the Saints.

NNU will complete the 2009 season next weekend on the road, playing at Western Washington on Thursday and at Seattle Pacific on Saturday evening.
