Wildcats post 4-0 win at NNU

NAMPA, Idaho - Kelsy Villegas scored twice to lead the Central Washington University women's soccer team past Northwest Nazarene University 4-0 on Saturday afternoon in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference match at the NNU Soccer Field.
 
The Wildcats (6-9-1, 3-5-1 GNAC) struck in the 23rd minute when Brittany Franks finished a Serena Tomaso corner to open the scoring.  Villegas then followed with her first goal in the 40th minute, converting a penalty kick past NNU goalkeeper Tanya Zickefoose. 
 
Villegas added her second tally of the day in the 81st minute off an assist from Kaycie Hutchins and Carson McKole completed the CWU scoring in the 87th minute, netting an unassisted goal as she was able to weave through the Crusader defense and finish inside the far post.
 
The Crusaders (3-9-3, 1-7-0 GNAC) best scoring opportunity came in the 87th minute when Marie Smith was awarded a penalty kick, however the Wildcats Amber Easterbrook made a diving save to preserve the shutout for the visitors.
 
CWU held an 18-5 shot advantage and a 9-4 corner kick lead.
 
Easterbrook was called on for three saves, while Zickefoose made eight for the Crusaders.
 
The Crusaders will host their final home matches of the season next week, with Western Oregon visiting on Thursday and Saint Martin's coming to Nampa one week from today.
