Wildcats defeat NNU 4-0 in Ellensburg

ELLENSBURG, Wash. - Lynde Clarke scored the first two goals of the game and Amber Easterbrook recorded a shutout as Central Washington beat Northwest Nazarene 4-0 Saturday in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference women's soccer game at Ellensburg.

Clarke scored the only goal of the first half in the 24th minute, then added the first of three second-half goals at 58:49 as Central Washington improved to 5-2-2, including 2-1 in the conference.

Later Gwenna Carie helped produce two insurance goals, setting up a score by Ellie Eckroth at 67:22, then getting an unassisted goal herself at 82:32.

Easterbrook, meanwhile stopped four Northwest Nazarene shots to record her sixth shutout of the season and extend her own school record for career shutouts to 14.

CWU outshot the Crusaders (1-8-1, 0-2-0) by a 16-6 count and had five of the game's six corners. Pip Herman had six saves for NNU.
