PORTLAND, Ore. - Cammy Dranginis hammered a match-best 15 kills as the Northwest Nazarene volleyball team swept Concordia University 25-22, 25-19, 27-25 on Saturday night in a non-conference match at Cavalier Gym.

 

Dranginis hit .371 and had four blocks as the Crusaders moved to 6-2 overall.  Amy Higginson directed the attack, handing out 35 assists, while Amanda Boschma had nine kills and 18 digs and Haley Hevern led all defenders with 19 digs.

 

The Crusader defense held the Cavaliers (8-4) to a .147 hitting percentage and out-blocked the hosts 15-8.  Raluca Dinca led CU with nine kills and former Crusader Lindsey Fryer had eight.

 

NNU will open Great Northwest Athletic Conference play next weekend, traveling to Alaska Anchorage on Thursday and Alaska Fairbanks on Saturday.  The Crusaders home opener will be on September 25th when they host Western Oregon University at 7 p.m. at the Johnson Sports Center.
