Fighting Saints down Crusaders 1-0

| By:
NAMPA, Idaho - Meghan O'Connell slipped a shot just inside the left post to give Carroll College a 1-0 victory over Northwest Nazarene University in a non-conference soccer match on Thursday afternoon at the NNU Soccer Field.

O'Connell's shot in the 71st-minute came after Hannah Young controlled the ball on the right side and sent a crossing pass in to the box, finding O'Connell at the 10-yard mark.  It was the fourth goal of the season for O'Connell who leads the NAIA nationally 10th-ranked Fighting Saints (3-1-0) in scoring.

The Crusaders (0-5-0) out-shot the visitors 14-9 overall, but Carroll goalkeeper Katie Beall was up to the task, stopping all five shots-on-goal from NNU.  Jenna Johnson and Whitney Teague both put two shots on goal, with Liz Gross adding one.

The Crusaders will next be in action on September 17th when they host The College of Idaho at 4:00 p.m.
