Rohnert Park, Calif. – The Northwest Nazarene volleyball team fell to 25th-ranked Chico State and Sonoma State on Saturday at the Seawolf Spike volleyball tournament, hosted by Sonoma State University.
The Crusaders, now 2-2 overall, fell in three games to the Wildcats (20-25, 14-25, 19-25) in an early afternoon match and lost a five-game battle to the host Seawolves (16-25, 25-12, 20-25, 25-22, 9-15) in the featured evening match.
Against the Seawolves the Crusaders were led by Lindsay Forseth with a match-high 18 kills and 14 digs.

Haley Hevern posted a match-best 31 digs.
"Lindsay really played well this weekend," commented NNU head coach Jared Sliger. "She was a force at the net and made our opponents make adjustments."
Earlier in the day against Chico State, Dranginis paced the Crusaders with 10 kills, but NNU hit just .127 compared to the Wildcats .345 clip. Hevern again led the Red and Black with 19 digs from the back row.
Dranginis was named to the all-tournament team and joined Erica Brick of Chico State (MVP), Kristy Sather and Lindsay Brown of Sonoma State, Beth Perkins from San Francisco State, Lianne Vicchio of Cal State Stanislaus and Megan Cape of Chico State.
The Crusaders will now travel to the Central Washington Invitational next weekend for matches against Chaminade, St.Mary's and Hawaii Pacific University.
