NAMPA, Idaho - Montana State Billings scored two quick first-half goals on their way to a 3-0 victory over Northwest Nazarene University on Thursday afternoon in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference game on the NNU Soccer Field in Nampa.

 

Samantha Sandau opened the scoring in the 21st-minute when she took a nicely played ball up the middle from Mandy Ploskonka and beat NNU goalkeeper Pip Herman from 12-yards out to the left side of the net.  It was Sandau's second goal of the season. 

 

Melissa Carlson would add the second Yellowjacket tally just two minutes later when a Sandau shot would go in-and-out of Herman's hands on the save, finding Carlson just four-yards out and alone in front of the goal for her fourth goal of the year.

 

Ploskonka converted a penalty kick in the 55th-minute for MSUB, scoring her fourth goal of the season to give the 'Jackets the final 3-0 margin.

 

The 'Jackets out-shot the Crusaders 10-8 and Jordan Fenwick made four saves on her way to her fourth shutout of the season.  NNU's Herman hustled for 2 saves.

 

The Crusaders (0-11-0 GNAC, 1-17-1) will close out the season on Saturday when they host Central Washington University at Noon.
