Gators hunt down Crusaders 87-73

ROHNERT PARK, Calif. - Northwest Nazarene University sophomore post Brian Barkdoll scored a career-high 25 points but the San Francisco State Gators opened the second-half with a 17-4 scoring run to defeat the Crusaders 87-73 on Saturday night at the Ron Logsdon Basketball Classic, hosted by Sonoma State University in Rohnert Park, California.
 
Barkdoll led the Crusaders (2-1) and freshman point guard Anthony Golden scored a season-high 13 as NNU led 31-30 at the half. 
 
However, it was all SFSU (3-0) after the break, outscoring the Crusaders 57-42 and hitting on 58.6-percent (17-29) of their second period shots, including a 5-for-8 performance from the three-point line.
 
Alex Thomas and Robert Hayes led SFSU with 18 each, Darryl Robinson added 14 and both Will Logan and Brad Visman scored 11.
 
Kendall Gielow led the Crusaders on the glass with a game-high seven rebounds as NNU out-rebounded SFSU 32-29.
 
The Crusaders will travel to Golden, Colorado next weekend to play in the Colorado School of the Mines Thanksgiving Classic, facing the host Orediggers on Friday and Regis University on Saturday afternoon.
