LA GRANDE, Ore. - After winning the first two sets the Eastern Oregon University volleyball team had to hold on as the Crusaders battled back to take sets three and four before falling 15-10 in a fifth set to the Mountaineers on Tuesday in a non-conference match in La Grande.
The Crusaders, now 8-7 overall, have lost four of their last five, with all four defeats coming in five-set epics. The Mountaineers improve to 13-5 overall with the 25-22, 25-20, 18-25, 23-25, 15-10 victory.
Lindsay Forseth led the Crusaders with 13 kills and 16 digs, but NNU hit just .066 in the match with 36 attack errors.
Amanda Boschma had 11 kills and
Cammy Dranginis finished with 10.
EOU's Grace Deboodt led all players with 15 kills and Jessica Lea added 13 kills and 22 assists. Haley McEnroe also reached double-digits with 10 kills.
NNU will return to league action this weekend when they host Saint Martin's University on Saturday night at 7 p.m. at the Johnson Sports Center.
