NAMPA, Idaho - Playing the first game on the new Northwest Nazarene University soccer field, the Western Oregon University women's soccer team defeated the Crusaders 4-1 on Thursday afternoon in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference match in Nampa.

Brenna Lander and Melinda Ingalls each scored twice and Ingalls also posted two assists as the Wolves improved to 5-5-1 overall and 1-1-1 in GNAC play.  The Crusaders fall to 1-9-1 overall and 0-2-0 in conference action.

Lander scored WOU's first two goals in the 13th and 23rd minutes, respectively. The first came off a cross from Ingalls and the second came off a double-assist from Ingalls and Jessica Hicks.  Ingalls cross came from the far right side, just outside the box, finding Lander's head into the left side of the goal.  Ingalls and Hicks controlled a ball on the left side of the goal, with Ingalls flicking a pass to Hicks who one-touched a nice ball for the Lander finish.

NNU (1-9-1, 0-3-0) closed to within one goal early in the second half as Stacey Beckman converted a cross from Jenna Johnson, but Ingalls added two clinching goals at 78:11 on a soft lob and at 83:22 on another lob after taking a cross from Kristen Werhane.

WOU outshot NNU 12-6 in the contest, though they did surrender 10 of the 11 corner kicks.
