BILLINGS, Mont. - Kari Foreman and Ali Gamberg each had a goal and an assist as Montana State Billings defeated Northwest Nazarene 4-0 on Thursday afternoon in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference match in Billings.
Mandy Ploskonka scored the game winner in the 33rd minute as she took passes from Foreman and Gamberg and fired a rocket to the upper left-hand corner of the net from about 25 yards. The win moves the Yellowjackets to 8-6-0 overall and 3-4-0 in GNAC play. The Crusaders fall to 1-12-1 overall and 0-6-0 in league matches.
Foreman made it 2-0 just 48 seconds into the second half as she converted a pass from Amy Remsberg in front of the net. Sara Gress rebounded her own shot at 51:17 as MSUB extended its lead to 3-0.
Gamberg then completed the scoring for the Yellowjackets at 68:12 scoring off a pass from Samantha Sandau.
MSUB outshot the Crusaders 8-1 in the first half and finished with a 17-5 edge in attempts.
Jordan Fenwick (68:39) and Brittany Knudtzon (21:21) combined for the shutout, each making one save.
Pip Herman stopped six shots for the Crusaders.
The Crusaders will next travel to Seattle Pacific and face the Falcons on Saturday at 1 p.m. PST.
