NAMPA - The Northwest Nazarene women's soccer team defeated Canyon County  rival Albertson College 3-0 on Saturday afternoon in the final game of the 2007  Les Schwab Classic.
The Crusaders scored their first goal in the 13th minute when Carlee  Stinton's corner kick found the head of Marie Smith. Smith sent the header to  the upper right corner of the goal for her first tally of the season.
NNU scored again in the 43rd minute to take a 2-0 lead to the half when  Kendra Courcy settled a ball from an ACI defender and scored from 30 yards out  on the right side. Stinton scored her first and the Crusaders third goal of the  day in the 63rd minute on a penalty kick. The penalty shot was awarded after NNU  forward Katy McNutt was taken down on a breakaway deep in the box.
The win improves the Crusaders to 2-1 overall and moves Albertson College to  an even 2-2.
The Crusaders out-shot the Coyotes 22-10 and NNU goalkeeper Amanda Peters  collected her second straight shutout, forced to make just three saves on the  day. ACI keepers Amy Rhoades and Sadie Hughes combined for 10 saves with Rhoades  earning seven.
NNU will travel to Westminster College next Wednesday and then return to  Nampa for a noon showdown with Whitman College on Saturday.
