Mohs leads Crusaders to victory over Eastern Oregon

Nampa, ID- The Northwest Nazarene University women's soccer team evened their season record on Thursday with a 1-0 home win over the Mountaineers of Eastern Oregon University in the first game of the 2007 Les Schwab Classic in Nampa.

Scoring the Crusaders (1-1) single goal was senior Hannah Mohs with her first of the season coming in the 35th minute of the opening half. Mohs, who came off the bench for the Crusaders, had three shots, two of which were on goal.

"I was real pleased to see the girls play a full 90 minutes today. They didn't drop their level of intensity and had some real good physical play" commented NNU head coach Jamie Lindvall on the victory.

The Crusaders out-shot Eastern Oregon 19-10 and Crusader goalkeeper Amanda Peters had seven saves to earn her first shutout of the year. Leading the shots statistic for NNU was freshman Whitney Teague with four.

Leading the way for Eastern Oregon (0-1) was Tennly Paul-Bowden with three shots with seven of EOU's 10 shots on goal.

The NNU women's soccer team next comes to play at noon this Saturday, September 1st, against cross-county rival Albertson College in the final game of the 2007 Les Schwab Classic.
