SEATTLE - The Northwest Nazarene University women's soccer team fell 3-0 at #3 Seattle Pacific University on Friday night in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference match at Interbay Stadium in Seattle.

Seattle Pacific (13-0-0) opened the scoring in the 24th minute when Jocelyn Charette converted a pass from Shannon Oakes to take a 1-0 lead into the half.

Crusader head coach Jamie Lindvall was pleased with the NNU effort against the 3rd ranked team in the nation. "We played them straight up and had some good opportunities…but just couldn't convert."

"We were dangerous until the end and I felt we played a good game," Lindvall added. "Obviously they are a good team and it's always tough to play a good team on their home field."

The Falcons would score twice in the second half, first in the 48th minute when Meredith Teague scored an unassisted goal, converting her own rebound and in the 65th minute when Sarah Martinez's shot from 12 yards out beat Crusader keeper Amanda Merrell to the right side. Janae Godoy earned an assist on Martinez's goal.

SPU out-shot the Crusaders 16-4 with Merrell making six saves for the Crusaders, while Falcon keeper Jesslyn Rahm was forced into two saves.

The Crusaders (6-5-1, 3-4-0 GNAC) will return to Nampa and host Saint Martin's University on Wednesday at 4:00 p.m.
