BELLINGHAM, Wash. --- Forward Claire Morgan scored a pair of goals, leading Western Washington University to a 4-0 victory over Northwest Nazarene University on Saturday in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference women's soccer contest at Orca Field on the Whatcom CC campus.

The Vikings improved to 10-6-1 overall and 5-5-1 in the GNAC. It was just their second win in the last six games after an 8-2-1 start.

Northwest Nazarene fell to 7-7-2 overall, 4-6-1 in conference play.

Midfielder Lucy Miller opened the scoring in the 15th minute, scoring off an assist from Kelly Irving. Morgan scored four minutes later, with an assist from Rosie Zadra, giving Western a 2-0 halftime lead.

Morgan extended the lead in the 61st minute, finishing after Miller intercepted a backpass, and Zadra completed the scoring in the 86th minute with an unassisted goal.

"You have to give Western Washington credit...they played very well today," commented NNU head coach Jamie Lindvall. "I didn't feel like we played poorly, they just outplayed us."

Western goalkeeper Teresa Fish did not have to make a save in getting the shutout, extending her school and GNAC record for career shutouts to 29.
