Brian Solemsaas comes to NNU after spending last season as assistant baseball coach, pitching coach and recruiting coordinator for Wayne State College (Neb.), an NCAA Division II member of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.
Prior to Wayne State, Solemsaas was the assistant coach and pitching coach at Clarke University in Iowa from August 2011 to June 2012 and was assistant pitching coach and team manager at NCAA Division I Southern Illinois from August 2009 to May 2011.

Along with his experience as an assistant coach and pitching coach, Solemsaas also was head coach of the Myrtle Beach Ghost Crabs this past summer in the Beach League college baseball summer league, and was head coach of the Bismarck Representatives American Legion team in the summer of 2011.

Solemsaas graduated from Upper Iowa University in 2009 with a degree in Fitness/Wellness & Recreation, then earned his Master's in Kinesiology from Southern Illinois in 2011, graduating with high honors.
