Personal: Parents are Bill and Michele Merritt. Siblings are Kevin (26) and Casey (22).

Other: Katie enjoys kayaking, watching her favorite player Lebron James and also the Seattle Mariners play, and listening to the All American Rejects in her free time. She has been inspired the most by her father who is a survivor of thyroid cancer. She has chosen NNU to be her school because of the community that is created by its students and faculty along with the great academics that are offered by the school.
