Melissa Rima came to Idaho from Fairbanks, Alaska. She attended college at Boise State University where she played four years (2007-11) of NCAA Division I basketball for the Broncos.

Rima began her coaching career as head coach of the North Junior High varsity girls basketball team in 2011, and her team went on to win the city championship that season. She also worked as a coach at Boise State's men's and women's basketball camps for four seasons.

After graduating with a degree in Elementary Education in 2012 from BSU, Rima played basketball and coached camps with Athletes in Action in the Ukraine.

She currently is a teacher at Vision Charter in Caldwell, Idaho. Rima also is the sister of Kevin Rima, a junior forward (2013-14 season) on the NNU men’s basketball team.
