A familiar face with Northwest Nazarene track & field, Terry Cantrell returned to coach the hurdles in the 2022-23 season.
Starting in 2000, Cantrell was a professor in the history and education departments at NNU and assisted with the track & field program before retiring from full-time teaching in 2015.
Prior to that, he taught and coached at the high school level for 30 years in Boise. He worked with hurdles and cross country, with his hurdlers winning 17 Idaho State Championships during that time.
Cantrell graduated from Northwest Nazarene in 1970 with a Bachelor's Degree in History. He has also earned a Master's in History from Boise State and an Ed. Specialist's Degree in Secondary Administration from the University of Idaho.
Terry is married to Jan, who is also a retired NNU professor. In his spare time he enjoys playing golf and fly fishing.
