NAMPA, Idaho - With a fantastic season that has seen their fourth-straight GNAC Regular Season Championships and a national ranking as high as No. 13, Northwest Nazarene softball will now add another first to their growing list of incredible accomplishments as a program, as they are the two-seed in the West Region and will host one of the two opening-weekend regional pods for the first time in program history.

As the two-seed, NNU will welcome in three-seed Concordia University Irvine, six-seed Cal State Dominguez Hills, and seven-seed Saint Martin's to Nampa. All games will be played at Bobby Welch Halle Field from Thursday through Saturday, May 9-11. Official game times are yet to be announced, but on Thursday the Nighthawks will open against Saint Martin's while Concordia plays CSUDH.

The other side of the West Region will take place at top-seeded Western Washington. They will be joined by four-seed Cal State San Marcos, five-seed Cal State East Bay, and eight-seed Azusa Pacific. The winners of each regional pod will then advance to a best-of-three Super Regional series at the higher remaining seed on May 14-15, with the winner of that heading to the eight-team Finals at Boombah-Soldiers Creek Park in Longwood, Florda from May 19-25.

As mentioned, this is the first time that NNU softball has hosted rounds of the NCAA tournament, and first time that any Northwest Nazarene program has done so since the baseball team hosted the West Regional in 2021. This is also NNU's fourth-straight berth in the NCAA softball regionals and fifth overall for the program.

NNU will be looking to advance out of the regional pod for the first time as well after coming just one win short of reaching Super Regionals a season ago.
