DUPONT, Wash. – Northwest Nazarene men's golf began their fall season with a fifth-place finish at the Saint Martin's Invitational.
The Nighthawks shot +8 in three rounds as a team, just one stroke behind the tournament host Saint Martin's who finished in fourth place.
Overall,
Grayson Giboney had the best weekend for the Nighthawks shooting +1, +2, and -2 respectively. He had eight birdies and one eagle in his three rounds.
Kasey Gaff shot a plus two overall and tied Giboney for the best single round by any Nighthawk on the weekend with a -2 in his first round of the tournament.
Benjamin Mulder shot a +4 overall, with his best round being his first as well when he shot -1.
Cole Evarts and
Gavin Rodeghiero shot +5 and +12 overall on the weekend with one even round each as their best. The five Nighthawks competing combined for 47 birdies and one eagle on the weekend.
Lucas Rynearson and
Tyler Williams competed as independents. Williams shot +6, +6, and +1 while collecting four birdies of his own. Rynearson shot a +4 overall on the weekend with rounds of -1, +2, and +3 while collecting seven birdies and one eagle.
The Nighthawks next competition is on September 25
th and 26
th when Western Washington hosts at Bellingham Golf and Country Club.
