NEW ORLEANS - The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) have released their end-of-the-year honors for the 2022-23 track and field season.
Northwest Nazarene earned the team honor for both the men's and women's programs, while five athletes received the individual accolade -
Destany Herbert,
Miya Koch,
Abbey Wood,
Kinsey Yenor, and
Steven Schmidt.
To qualify for the honor of USTFCCCA All-Academic Team, the cumulative GPA for all student-athletes on the institution's NCAA Squad List
 for Indoor and/or Outdoor Track and Field must be 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
For All-Academic Athletes, the individual must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of a 3.25 on a 4.0 scale through the end of the semester of competition, as well as having achieved an NCAA automatic or provisional qualifying mark (individual or relay event) for either the indoor season or outdoor season.Â
The NNU men's program made the cut with a 3.36 cumulative GPA (17th in Division II), while the women recorded a 3.58 (tied for 27th).
Herbert earned her qualifying marks in both shot put seasons, while Koch made the cut in the outdoor high jump. Wood notched her provisional mark in the sprints and Yenor in the pole vault.
Schmidt earned his qualifying marks in the indoor high jump, indoor heptathlon, outdoor high jump and outdoor decathlon.Â
