Nighthawks Golf Places Three on CSC Academic All-District Teams

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The College Sports Communicators (CSC) has released the 2022-23 At-Large Academic All-District Teams for Division II, with Northwest Nazarene golf's Cole Evarts, Grayson Giboney, and Paige Vancil receiving the honor.

For the CSC academic awards, golf falls under the at-large category that also includes sports like lacrosse, rowing, and wrestling.

Evarts earns his second CSC Academic All-District honor, joining the 2020-21 season, while Giboney and Vancil are first-time recipients. Evarts and Giboney receive the third and fourth honors in men's program history, while Vancil's is the second for the women's program.

Through the 2022 fall semester (spring grades had not been released yet at award nomination time), Vancil has compiled a 3.82 GPA in International Relations. Evarts has a 3.52 GPA in Financial Economics, while Giboney has a 3.56 in Management.

The 2023 Academic All‐District At-Large Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student‐athletes for their combined performances in competition and in the classroom. To be eligible, student-athletes must be significant contributors to their team athletically while maintaining a cumulative GPA of a 3.50 or above. The CSC Academic All‐America program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

At-Large Academic All‐District honorees advance to the CSC Academic All‐America ballot. First, second, and third‐team Academic All‐America honorees will be announced fro the men on June 21 and for the women on June 22.
