LIVERMORE, Calif. - Northwest Nazarene men's golf opened their spring season in California at the NNU Nighthawks Invitational on Monday and Tuesday, with the Nighthawks finishing seventh out of 12 teams.
The Nighthawks improved by eight strokes on day two to finish with a two-round total of 624 (316, 308), nine back of Saint Martin's and Academy of Art in a tie for fifth. Montana State Billings, the other GNAC school at the event, placed fourth. Holy Names won the invite with a team total of 591.
Grayson Giboney was NNU's top finisher, tying for 15th with two rounds of 76 (+4) each for a 152 total.
Cole Evarts was next, tying for 22nd at 154.
Colton Sisk moved up on day two, improving by five strokes to tie for 43rd at 161.
Parker Wallace also saw a great improvement on day two, going from an 87 in round one to a 76 in round two to tie for 49th at 163.
Gavin Rodeghiero rounded out the group at 165, tying for 54th.
NNU also had a second team compete at the invite that finished 10th at 648.
Luke Birkinbine led the way at 155, tying for 26th.

Truman Gregory (169), and
Alex Lowery (171) also competed for the Nighthawks.
NNU will be back in California next weekend, heading to Alameda for the Tim Tierney Pioneer Shootout hosted by Cal State East Bay on March 13 and 14.
