NEW ORLEANS - The USTFCCCA announced their 2020-21 academic honors, with the Northwest Nazarene men and women both earning the team award and individuals

To be selected as an All-Academic Athlete, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.25 cumulative GPA on a 4.00 scale, must have completed at last 24 semester hours or 36 quarter hours by the end of the semester and must have achieved an automatic or provisional qualifying mark during either the indoor or outdoor season. Over 325 men and 375 women earned All-Academic honors.
Teams named USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher, encompassing grades earned by all student-athletes of the institution's NCAA squad list. Both awards require that the institution's head coach be a member of the USTFCCCA.
The women were in the top 30 in Division II with a 3.55 combined GPA, while the men finished with a 3.16.Â
Langin, a Marketing major from Meridian, completed her first year at NNU with a 3.95 GPA. Her provisional qualifying mark came in the pole vault, as the freshman set a new NNU program record with a clearance of 3.86 meters (12' 3.5") at the BYU Robison Invitational in April.Â
Shea, a Mathematics major from Spokane, Wash., has compiled a 3.93 GPA during his three years as a Nighthawk. His provisional mark was in the 10,000 meter run, setting a new NNU record with a time of 30:31.78 at the Robison Invite.
