Softball Jumps Back Into NFCA Top 25

| By:
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The NFCA released their latest Division II poll on Wednesday morning, and Northwest Nazarene softball has re-entered the Top 25, tying for the 25th spot with Texas A&M Kingsville.

The Nighthawks (25-9, 8-4) have been right on the borderline of the rankings for nearly the whole season, appearing in the poll at 25th a few weeks ago as well as receiving votes for over a month and a half.

Augustana leads the poll with all 12 first-place votes, followed by Valdosta State, UT Tyler, North Georgia, and Indianapolis. Concordia Irvine, who NNU split a pair of games with a couple of weeks ago, is the highest ranked West Region member at 12th. Biola is the only other West Region member in the top 25, slotting just ahead of NNU in 24th.

NNU is also among the eight teams 'under consideration' in the NCAA's West Region rankings. Numbered rankings are set to begin next week.

NNU closes out the regular season this weekend at Montana State Billings. The Nighthawks are currently in the driver's seat for the regular season GNAC title, and would lock it up with a successful weekend in Billings.
