Box Score PULLMAN, Wash. - Northwest Nazarene hit the court for their first exhibition contest of the new season on Friday night, taking on the Washington State Cougars on the road.
WSU, a rising Pac-12 contender, came out strong and never looked back in the contest, earning a 113-43 victory over the Nighthawks.
Jordan Pinson led NNU with 12 points, going 5-7 from the field and 2-3 from three-point range.Â
Erin Jenkins was next as the only other Nighthawk in double figures with 10, shooting 3-6 from deep.
Teagan Thurman was strong on the glass, pulling down seven rebounds to go with eight points.Â
The Cougars had six players in double figures, led by Johanna Teder's 20 points, seven boards, and seven assists.
NNU will have one more exhibition contest before the regular season gets underway, visiting Montana on Tuesday, Nov. 9. The 2021-22 season will officially tip off next weekend when NNU travels to Turlock, California to battle Cal State East Bay and Stanislaus State in the GNAC-CCAA Crossover on Nov. 12 and 13.
