NNU Wraps Up Fall Season in Hawaii

WAIKOLOA, Hawaii - Northwest Nazarene men's golf enjoyed the warmth of Hawaii as they wrapped up the 2021 fall slate this week, competing in the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate from Monday to Tuesday. 

The Nighthawks finished 11th out of 12 teams, led by Cole Evarts with a tie for 21st individually. Evarts shot a 74 on day one before a hot round of 69 on day two, finishing with a 75 today to make it 218 for the invite.

Lane Strand tied for 38th as the next Nighthawk finisher, shooting the lowest round of an NNU player at the tournament on day two with a 67, totalling 224.. Jack Cook tied for 57th with a 234, Truman Gregory finished 63rd at 238, and Grayson Giboney rounded out NNU's golfers with a 67th place finish at 244.

Colorado Christian won the event with a blistering one under total at 839. Western New Mexico was nine strokes back, followed by Cal State San Bernardino and fellow GNAC member Simon Fraser.

The Nighthawks will now rest up over the winter before hitting the spring season strong, opening the 2022 campaign in California with the NNU Poppy Ridge Invitational on March 7-8.
