NAMPA, Idaho – The Northwest Nazarene women's basketball program added Kate Clark on a national letter of intent recently.
Clark, a 5-foot-7 guard from Melba, Idaho, joins her older sister Emma on the Nighthawks.
"I chose NNU because the school and basketball program are top notch," she said. "I felt like it would help me grow spiritually, as a person and as a basketball player. And of course, I get to play with my sister at the college level!"
Clark was named to the 2020 All-State first team as a junior and was her conference co-player of the year. She averaged 16.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.3 steals and 2.4 assists per game last season. She was also named first-team all-conference as a freshman and a sophomore.
"Kate is a great shooter and the kind of athlete that will thrive in our defensive system," NNU coach
Steve Steele said. "More importantly, she's a great student and she knows how to win. Kate is humble, unselfish and makes everyone around her better.
"She is an obvious fit for our Nighthawks family and we can't wait to have her here."
She holds the school record for 3-pointers made in a game, a season and a career.
Clark has a 3.96 grade point average, is in the National Honors Society and is in the top 10 percent of her class.
She also plays volleyball and track and field for Melba.
