NNU softball keeps its season alive

PORTLAND, Ore. – The Northwest Nazarene softball team kept its season alive Friday with a 3-0 victory against Western Oregon in the GNAC tournament at Concordia in Portland.

The Nighthawks (28-23 overall) took advantage of two Wolves (31-16) errors to elminate the Oregon school.

"We did a good job of focusing up and having fun on both offense and defense," NNU coach Rich Wagner said. "We need to continue making offensive adjustments and leave it all on the field."

NNU will now play Central Washington at 4 p.m. MDT on Friday in another elimination game. The Wildcats lost 7-0 to Concordia in a semifinal Friday morning. Central defeated NNU 8-0 in five innings Thursday.

On Friday, Jordan Adams threw a three-hit shutout, walking none and striking out seven for the win.

Brittany Genuardi, Shelbie Martinez and Madison Strickler all had an RBI.
