NNU wraps up regular season with a loss

| By:
Box Score SEATTLE, Wash. – The Northwest Nazarene women's soccer lost 4-0 on Saturday to Seattle Pacific in the final game of the regular-season.

It was the end of an era for the Nighthawks (6-10-2 overall, 3-7-2 GNAC), who had five seniors play their final game.

"This senior class was extra special to me because I had some of them for six years with club and stuff," NNU coach Mary Trigg said. "They are one of the first classes that helped get us to a different level. This is a class that established a culture for us and they are good people.

"They created something that is a deeper legacy than wins because they established a culture."

Saturday was also the start of the next era as the seniors were pulled off the field with 15 minutes left to let returners close out the game.

"I'm super excited for our future," Trigg said. "The last 15 minutes, we showed some energy, grit and excitement. Our future is so bright."

The game was the final in a Nighthawks uniform for Brooke Felzien, Tennyson Young, Corrinah Schaefer, Christa Lewis and Maddy Parton.

Alexis Montoya made four saves in goal.

"The seniors left the program better than they found it," Trigg said. "And now our other players are hungry."
