POCATELLO, Idaho –
Raquel Jardine scored 24 points to lead Northwest Nazarene to a 95-87 victory against Division I Idaho State on Saturday in an exhibition game.
Jardine shot 7-of-9 from the field in just 19 minutes.
Lexi Tubbs added 22 points, seven rebounds and was 13 of 14 from the free-throw line.
"Obviously, any time you can beat a D-I team it's a big deal," NNU coach
Steve Steele said. "I told the team before we played I wanted them to be proud of their effort, regardless of the score."
Marina Vallés added 16 points and
Avery Albrecht celebrated her birthday with 10 points and a big win.
"Tonight I was definitely proud of our effort," Steele said. "I hope we can build from this and continue to improve."
NNU opens its regular season at Stanislaus State at 8:30 p.m. MST on Friday in  Turlock, Calif.
