NNU women remain undefeated after road victory

Box Score LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Marina Valles scored 18 points off the bench and the Northwest Nazarene University women's basketball team remained undefeated on the young season with a 79-69 victory against Cal State Los Angeles on Wednesday.

Valles was 7-of-11 from the field and 4-of-6 from the line in her 24 minutes of game action.

"I'm really proud of how we grinded out that win," NNU coach Steve Steele said. "L.A. was a really physical and well coached team."

Danielle Jardine added 16 points and seven rebounds while Raquel Jardine added 10 points and five rebounds.

"Marina gave us a great game off the bench," Steele said. "And the twins really wore them down."

McKenna Walker added nine points, while Lexi Tubbs had seven points and six rebounds and Avery Albrecht had seven points and four rebounds.

NNU (3-0) plays Biola (Calif.) at 6 p.m. MST on Thursday.
