NAMPA, Idaho – Defending GNAC Champions Montana State University Billings defeated Northwest Nazarene 8-0 and 4-0 in today's Great Northwest Athletic Conference softball action held at Halle Field in Nampa, Idaho.
In game one the Yellow Jackets took down NNU 8-0 in six innings.
Brianna Kinghorn and
Kira Varady had the only two hits for NNU in game one.
Noelle Wright received the loss on the mound dropping to 6-7 overall.
Cori Gammon led MSUB at the plate going 3 for 4 with 1 RBI. Jessyka MacDonald earned the win on the mound, improving to 2-1 on the year.
In game two MSUB topped NNU 4-0.
Kayla Sevier led the Crusaders, going 2 for 2 at the plate.
Krista Olson took the loss on the mound, falling to 0-2 on the year.
Rose Harrington led the Yellow Jackets, going 2 for 3 at the plate. Amanda Toms earned her first win of the season on the mound.
The Crusaders drop to 5-10 overall and 0-2 in GNAC play. The Yellow Jackets improve to 3-6 overall and 2-0 in GNAC action.
NNU will take on the College of Idaho on Tuesday for a double-header beginning at 3:00 p.m. in Caldwell, Idaho.
