MONMOUTH, Oregon – The Northwest Nazarene University women's basketball team defeated Western Oregon University 73-62 in today's Great Northwest Athletic Conference contest.
Megan Hingston posted her eleventh double-double of the year with 31 points and 12 rebounds. Hingston who was 11 of 18 from the floor and a perfect 9 of 9 from the free-throw line was one point shy of tying her career high of 32 points. Chelsea Luke added 9 points. Five Crusaders chipped in 6 points each to help bring a balanced attack.

The Crusaders used a 17-6 run to help open up their lead at the beginning of the second-half. NNU had their largest lead of 18 points with 12:40 remaining in the second half. The team out-rebound SMU 42-33 and had 23 second chance points.
Chantel Divilbiss had 14 points to lead the Saints. Melissa Fowler chipped in 13 while Lorrie Clifford and Whitney Rodgriguez both netted 12 points for SMU.
The Saints were 23 of 49 (46.9-percent) from the field and 11 of 16 (68.8-percent) from the foul line.
The Crusaders, who were 30 of 73 (41.1-perecent) from the floor, improve to 17-3 overall and 9-3 in GNAC action. NNU was 11 of 15 from the charity stripe. The Crusaders scored 17 points off of their 19 forced turnovers.
With six games left in regular-season play, the Crusaders are currently tied for third place in the GNAC. NNU will be back to home action next week as they host Alaska Fairbanks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday night at the Johnson Sports Center in Nampa.
