Crusaders Sweep In Day Two of Desert Stinger

LAS VEGAS, Nevada - Brianna Kinghorn hit two home runs to help lift the Northwest Nazarene University softball team past Black Hills State University 6-3 in the Crusaders fourth game of the Desert Stinger Tournament held by Montana State University Billings. 

Kinghorn hit her first home run in the bottom of the first inning earning 2 RBI's and helped get the Crusaders up 3-0. Her second home run came in the fifth inning of play, Kinghorn finished 3 for 3 from the plate and had 5 RBI's. Shelby Johnson went 2 for 3 with 1 RBI. 

Noelle Wright earned the win for the Crusaders on the mound, pitching 7 innings and giving up 3 runs and 8 hits. 

In game two the Crusaders scored 6 runs in the eighth inning of play. New Mexico Highlands scored 2 in the bottom of the inning, giving the Crusaders their second win of the day.

Kira Varady went 3 for 4 from the plate and had 2 RBI's for NNU. Shelby Johnson was 1 for 2 and brought in 3 runs. Senior Michelle Crumbaker was 2 for 5 with 2 RBI's. 

The Crusaders now go to 3-6 overall. NNU will be back on the field February 22, to face Eastern Oregon University in Nampa, Idaho.
