Crusaders Top The Wildcats 77-68

ELLENSBURG, Wash. – Senior Heather Adams scored 24 points to help lead the lady Crusaders past the Wildcats of Central Washington University 77-68 in tonight's Great Northwest Athletic Conference women's basketball action.
 
Adams went 9 of 18 from the floor with 5 of those coming from behind the three-point line. The senior out of Boise, Idaho had five steals and was a crucial part to the Crusaders success.
 
Heather Adams was awesome for us tonight,” commented head coach Kelli Lindley, “She hit a bunch of big shots for us and was great on defense with five steals. She set the tone for the rest of the team and was an exceptional leader.”
 
Megan Hingston added 15 points and grabbed a team-high 8 rebounds. Junior Chelsie Luke chipped 14 points for NNU.
 
The Crusaders scored 31 points off of the 23 Wildcat turnovers.
 
The Wildcats were led by Courtney Johnson's 20 points on 6 of 13 shooting from the floor. Jasmine Parker added 14 points and grabbed 8 rebounds for CWU.
 
The Crusaders were 30 of 72 (41.7-percent) from the floor and 7 of 14 (50.0-perecent) from beyond the three-point line. The Wildcats shot 22 of 50 44.0-percent) from the floor and 7 of 15 (46.7-percent) from behind the three-point line.
 
NNU will be back in action next Thursday at 7:00 p.m. (PST) in Lacey, Washington as the Crusaders travel to face the Saints of Saint Martin's University in GNAC action.
