Megan Hingston became the 23
rd women's basketball player in NNU history to reach the 1,000-point mark. Hingston posted 18 points to help the Northwest Nazarene women's basketball team defeat the University of Alaska Fairbanks 88-81 in tonight's Great Northwest Athletic Conference action.
Hingston scored a jumper inside the lane just 58-seconds into the game to reach the 1,000-point mark. She is the 52
nd women's basketball player in GNAC history to join the 1,000-point club.

Kelli Lindley, “She has a great work ethic and has improved so much since she has been at NNU. I am looking forward to what else is in store for the remainder of her career as a Crusader.”
Chelsie Luke added a game-high 23 points on 8 of 16 shooting from the floor. Senior
Heather Adams had 15 points with three buckets coming from beyond the arc.
Veronika Skokankova chipped 13 points for NNU.
The Nanooks were 33 of 61 (54.1-percent) from the floor. Benissa Bulaya and Jacqueline Lovato each scored 16 points for UAF. Samantha Thornton and Kelly Logue both posted 11 points while Taylor Altenburg chipped in 10 points.
UAA falls to 2-20 overall and 0-14 in GNAC action.
“Clearly it wasn't our best defensive effort,” added Lindley, “credit UAF for making a lot of tough shots. However, I am proud of how the girls responded when we weren't playing our best.”
The Crusaders who jump to 18-3 overall and 10-3 in GNAC play were 30 of 66 (45.5-percent) from the field and 25 of 27 (92.6-percent) from the charity stripe. NNU forced 19 turnovers and edged the Nanooks on the glass 34-32.
The Crusaders will now host the University of Alaska Anchorage at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Johnson Sports Center in Nampa, Idaho.
