RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Northwest Nazarene men final got the result they earned.

Fredy Razo scored a pair of goals in the second half, providing all the offense the Crusaders needed to snap a four-game losing streak and beat the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology, 2-0, in Great Northwest Athletic Conference action Saturday night.

"Of any season I've coached, we have had so many results go against us that don't reflect the game, so more than anything else, this comes as a relief," NNU coach Coe Michaelson said.

The Crusaders (4-7-5 overall, 4-6-3 GNAC) suffered two disappointing ties, then three one-goal losses in their last six contests, all games that NNU had plenty of chances to win.

Saturday, NNU cashed in on those chances as Razo booted home a pass from Luke Broz in the 60th minute, breaking a scoreless tie.

Razo then netted his 12th goal of the season with 13:35 remaining in the game, heading home a corner kick by John DiLulo for the final 2-0 outcome.

Ryan Foo made one save in goal to earn the shutout for the Crusaders, who outshot the Hardrockers 13-2.

Now, NNU returns home to play its season finale next Saturday, when the Crusaders host Montana State Billings for "Senior Day" at 3 p.m.

"Hopefully we can take some momentum from tonight and finish with some respectability next Saturday where a win could see us move into the top four," Michaelson said. "That's our objective at this point."
