NAMPA, Idaho – A pair of monster double-double performances highlighted the game as the Northwest Nazarene University women's basketball team upset 7th-ranked Simon Fraser University 60-59 tonight in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference contest in Nampa.

Megan Hingston paced the Crusaders (14-2, 6-2 GNAC) with a game-high 20 points and a career-best 18 rebounds as NNU moved into a tie for second-place in the GNAC with Simon Fraser.  Nayo Raincock-Ekunwe led SFU (13-3, 6-2 GNAC) with 17 points and a game-high 19 rebounds.

Winners of nine-straight games, NNU will face 5th-ranked and GNAC leader Western Washington University on Saturday night at 7:00 p.m.

Trailing 34-33 at the half, the Crusaders used an 18-2 decisive run over 10:58 of the second-half to take control.  During the run NNU held SFU 0-for-11 from the floor, forced six turnovers and watched the Clan shoot 2-of-5 from the free throw line.

Chelsie Luke finished with a 12 point – 10 rebound double-double to help the Crusaders out-rebound SFU 56-39.

“It was a great team effort on the 'boards and both Megan (Hingston) and Chelsie (Luke) had some of the best rebounds I've ever seen from an effort standpoint, battling against the best rebounder in the country in Raincock-Ekunwe,” NNU head coach Kelli Lindley commented.

Despite shooting just 29.1-percent (23-79) from the floor, the Crusaders defense answered the call, forcing 21 turnovers and committing only 13.

Also in double-figures for SFU was Kristina Collins with 10 points and a game-high six assists.
