NAMPA, Idaho - Briaunna King scored a game-high 24 points to lead the Northwest Nazarene women's basketball team to an 81-77 victory over Seattle Pacific University tonight at the Johnson Sports Center.

King led three players into double-figures as the Crusaders improved to 14-7 overall and 8-5 in Great Northwest Athletic Conference play.  Heather Adams added 17 and Megan Hingston scored 12.

The Falcons (15-7, 9-5 GNAC) were led by Nyesha Sims who posted the games only double-double with 21 points and 13 rebounds.  Aubree Callen added 15 and Jordan Harazin scored 10.

SPU opened the game strong and led by 13 at 33-20 with 6:37 to play in the first half, however, the Crusaders answered with a 21 to 5 run to close out the period and lead 41-38 at the break.

The decisive stretch started with five-straight points from Adams on a three-pointer and a mid-range jumper.  SPU's McKayla Gorman answered with a triple, but King responded with her only three-pointer of the night and Adams went back-to-back from the arc for two more treys.

Leslie Warwick drained a three-pointer from the top of the key to give NNU their first lead of the game at 37-36 with 2:29 to go in the half, and after a Betsy Kingma jumper, the Crusaders took the lead for good (39-38, 0:58) on a Chelsie Luke runner in the paint.

King would add another bucket down low with nine seconds to play, capping the run to give the Crusaders the three-point lead at the half.

SPU battled to tie the score once in the second half after a Sims three-pointer made it 59-59 (9:30), but NNU answered with a Luke triple and would hold the lead through the final buzzer.

Luke finished with eight for the Crusaders and Warwick had nine.  Gorman finished with three for SPU and Kingma had two.

NNU shot 49.1-percent (28-57) from the floor and 8 of 16 from the three-point line.  Seattle Pacific was 31 of 64 (48.4-percent) from the field and 5 of 15 (33.3-percent) from the arc.

The Crusaders snapped a nine-game streak against the Falcons and held leading-scorer Katie Benson (15.0 ppg) to nine points.

NNU will be back in action on Saturday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. hosting Montana State Billings in a GNAC counter.
