Nampa, Idaho - Bobbi Knudsen had a career night as Montana State Billings knocked off the Northwest Nazarene Crusaders 69-60 in Saturday's GNAC match-up at the Johnson Sports Center.
Knudsen tallied a career high 32 points shooting 13 of 19 from the field and knocked down four of six from beyond the three-point line. Knudsen had a big first half for the Yellow Jackets scoring 18 of her 32 points in the first period. Kalli Stanhope and Brooke Tolman each had two three-pointers of their own on the night giving them 8 and 6 points respectively.
The Crusaders were led by
Briaunna King's 16 points and 10 rebounds. Also chipping in for NNU was
Megan Hingston with 14 points and 11 rebounds,
Chelsie Luke was one rebound shy of her own double-double scoring 11 points and grabbing nine rebounds.
The game had 12 total lead changes and was tied up 4 different times. NNU shot 40-percent (26 of 65) from the field and 3 of 17 (17.6-percent) from beyond the arc. The Yellow Jackets were 26 of 56 (46.4-percent) from the field and shot 44-percent (11 of 25) from beyond the three-point line. The Crusaders were active on the glass grabbing 48 rebounds against the Yellow Jackets 27. NNU was 5 of 6 (83.3-percent) while MSUB was 42.9-percent (6 of 14) from the foul line.
The Crusaders now drop to 14-8 overall and 8-6 in GNAC play. With the win Billings goes 18-8 overall and 10-5 in the GNAC.
GNAC action will pick up next Thursday for the Crusaders in Bellingham, Wash. as they travel to take on Western Washington University at 7 p.m.
