CALDWELL, Idaho - Freshman Ellen Ferrenburg scored the Crusaders final five points and pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds as the Northwest Nazarene University women's basketball team defeated The College of Idaho 65-62 tonight at the J.A. Albertson Activities Center in Caldwell.

Chelsie Luke led the Crusaders (3-0) with a game-high 17 points as NNU overcame a second-half one-for-20 shooting stretch to grab their third win of the season.

"It was just one of those rough shooting nights where we were getting good shots but nothing would fall for us," commented NNU head coach Kelli Lindley.  "I was proud of the ladies effort to continue fighting through the rough stretch in the second half and get the win."

Joining Luke in double-figures were both Megan Hingston with 13 and Kylee Schierman with 11.

"Ellen (Ferrenburg) was really clutch for us in the end...getting a couple free throws and a big bucket that ended up being the game winner."  Ferrenburg finished the game with five points and a game-high 10 rebounds.

The Crusaders forced 20 turnovers and out-rebounded the Coyotes 48-39.

Chakala Carthen led the Coyotes with 12 points while teammate Felicity Jones chipped in 10 points and grabbed five rebounds on the night.

The Crusaders will return to home action when they host the Fairfield Inn Classic November 23rd and 24th at the Johnson Sports Center in Nampa, Idaho. NNU will face Academy of Art University at 6:00 p.m. on the 23rd and Metro State on the 24th
