ANCHORAGE - Hanna Johansson and Haley Holmstead each scored 19 points to lead the 12th-ranked Seawolves past Northwest Nazarene 79-39 tonight in a Great Northwest Athletic Conference game at the Wells Fargo Sports Complex.
The University of Alaska Anchorage improved to 18-3 overall, 9-1 in GNAC play, and held the Crusaders to 24-percent (12-50) shooting from the field. Johansson and Holmstead were the only two players to reach double-figures in the contest.
Briaunna King led the Crusaders, who are now 11-7 overall and 5-5 in league games, with nine points.
UAA finished with a 50 to 32 rebounding advantage and forced 25 NNU turnovers while committing only 15 against 25 assists. Sasha King led all players with six assists and Gritt Ryder had five.
The Crusaders will look to rebound on Saturday when they travel to the University of Alaska Fairbanks for a GNAC counter against the Nanooks.
